Roughness test

Roughness test

The roughness test corresponds to the measurement of the surface condition of a tube or part. The question of the roughness value (or Ra value) is often raised. Indeed, do some applications require a low roughness value? In particular, this may be the case for:

  • Facilitate the cleaning of installations,
  • Ensure good flow by limiting pressure losses
  • Limiting the risk of bacteria or dirt retention should not have any chance of nesting on stainless steel walls.

Thus, the lower the roughness value, the lower the risk of corrosion.

Our Mitutoyo SJ-410 roughness meter allows:

  • High-precision measurements, thanks to a high-resolution detector with a high measurement capacity and a high straightness unit of advance, guarantee measurements of very high accuracy in their class.
  • To parameterize the roughness meeting international standards (Ra, Ry, Rz, Rz, Rt, Rz, Rt, Rp, Rz, Rz, Rz, R1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr2, Rt, Rp, Mr1, Mr2, Lo, Rp, Rx, Rv, Rx, Rv, Rv, Rz, Rz, R1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr2, Mr2, Lo, Ppi, Rv, Rv, Rv, Rv, Rv, Dc), Mr1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr2, Mr2, Lo, Ppi, Rv, Rv, Rv, Rv, Rv, Qc, Mr1, Mr1, Mr1, Mr, Wte, RZ1max (ISO), Rmax (DIN EN ISO, VDA, ANSI, JIS).
  • To edit a roughness report.
